FAQ

Will I receive an upgrade to Windows 7 when it releases?

Yes, an upgrade will be sent to you if you have purchased a computer after June 25. You will receive the upgrade starting on October 22.

What is the Warranty for any Component Failure?

All computers we sell come with a 3-year warranty and will be fixed for free within three years from your purchase.  In addition, you will receive lifetime technical support for your computer.

How do I better protect my computer against viruses?

We recommend these following free products to offer you more security. Avast! or Kaspersky work perfectly and again, are completely free. Other anti-virus products might work better but come at a cost.

Is there any way to stop the security pop-ups in Vista?

Yes, there are two ways we recommend. The Norton UAC Tool is available which eliminates the security pop-up on programs you trust. You can also turn off the security pop-ups by going to the control panel, and then click on the UAC account. Then click disable UAC.

I have heard that Vista may be really slow?

Ever since the launch of Windows Vista and even today still, many computer companies do not meet the recommended minimum system requirements for Vista. However, all Realm custom computers exceed the recommended minimum system requirements needed to run Vista. In fact, all Realm Computers are created to exceed the recommended optimal system level.

Will my computer be able to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, all Realm custom computers are completely compatible with Windows 7.

How do I keep my system running at optimal speed?

Large programs or files can slow down your computer over time. A simple defragmentation every month can solve that problem which is built into Windows. Just type in "defrag" in the Vista search box and let it run.

What if I want to install XP, Linux or another OS?

If you have a Windows XP, Windows 7, or Linux disc, you can install it on your machine. Every Realm custom computer comes with an actual Windows Vista disc so that you can later re-install whenever you want. As an alternative, you may want to add multiple  hard drives, each running a different operating system.
